悅人的眼目
 
「耶和華神使各樣的樹從地上長起來,能悅人的眼目,也好作食物。園子中間又有生命樹,和知善惡的樹。」(創二9,聖經新譯本)
德國包浩斯美術設計學院,是世界著名的學府,每年有很多精英從這校而出。商品設計學系的座右銘是:「我們的作品,要達到既美觀合符設計又實用的要求,並且用起來很配合人體的結構」。美的設計,企圖要跟神創造的風格看齊:「能悅人的眼目,也好作食物」。
 
試想一件家居用品(不是裝飾品),只美麗而無實用價值,豈能留存人間、成為合用的東西?相反,一件東西只達到實用的要求,而毫不考慮用家的方便,即是說,跟用者手形的配合或是身體特徵的配合──如錘子手柄的握掌處、水杯的弧度、椅子的椅背與椅墊的形制等,也不注意造型的美感,很快就會被淘汰。單就上主所造的水果而言,它們不單色彩美麗、外表潤澤、線條流暢,更令人垂涎。
 
「生命樹」與「知善惡的樹」是確確實實的樹,但含有清晰的象徵意義。當人望見「生命樹」,就想起上主是永活的主,祂是生命的源頭,離了祂一切皆不美,一切不能令人滿足。看見「知善惡的樹」,使人想到上主滿有知識與智慧的主權。「上帝看着一切所造的都甚好」(創一31),表達出上主鍾愛、珍惜、關顧祂所創造的萬物,以祂的創造為賞心樂事;更表明祂有深邃的智慧,審定如此的「佈局/構圖」為美為善,是上主自決甚麼是「好」或「不好」、「美」或「不美」。
 
「悅人的眼目」本來是上主給人的恩賜,使人有審美的反應,而「美好的」都指向祂,叫人以祂為主、為生命的焦點;然而人偏偏單停留於「悅目」的東西,以為「悅目」是因自我而有,結果將之通往崇拜自己之路。
 
主啊!求幫助我能認識祢是美善的源頭,在我自己的崗位上榮耀祢。奉主基督名求,阿們。

Imagine a home item (not an ornament) that is only beautiful but of no practical value, how can you retain the world and become a common thing? On the contrary, one thing only meets the practical requirements without regard to the convenience of the home, that is, the combination of the user’s hand-shaped or physical characteristics – such as the grip of a spoon handle, the water cup Latitude, chair back and cushion shape, etc. Do not pay attention to the aesthetic feeling of the style, will soon be eliminated. As far as the fruit of the Lord alone is concerned, they are not only beautiful in color, they are moist and flowing lines, but more mouthwatering.
The ′′ Tree of Life ′′ and the ′′ Tree of Knowing Good and Evil ′′ are true trees, but contain a clear symbolic meaning. When one looks at the tree of life, he is reminded that the Lord is the living Lord, the source of life, and nothing is beautiful and nothing is satisfying. Seeing the ′′ tree of knowledge of good and evil ′′ makes one think of the Lord’s sovereignty full of knowledge and wisdom, ′′ God sees all things good ′′ (Gen. 31), expressing the love of the Lord and cherish , and all things created by Guan, are rejoicing in his creation; and even more demonstrating that he has deep wisdom, and that he has judged such a ′′ layout / composition ′′ for good, and that the Lord self-determination of what is ′′ good ′′ or ′′ Not good “,” ′′ beautiful ′′ or ′′ not beautiful “.
